During the second phase of lockdown, it seems we (or some of us), will indeed be able to hit the nail on its head...
What does this mean for you?
If you are a plumber, electrician, locksmith or roof repairman, amended regulations gazetted last Thursday the 16th of April, now allows for the sale of hardware products and motor vehicle components to you as an essential worker .
Keep in mind, necessary permits will have to be submitted whilst purchasing the goods and general items not for the use of essential work repairs, like paint for example, shall not be permitted to be sold.
A record also has to be kept by each and every store of the items purchased, together with a record of each customer making a purchase.
Amendment of Annexure B to the Regulations, with the following addition to the regulation holds as follows:
"Hardware, components and supplies required by any qualified tradespersons solely for the purpose of emergency repairs at residential homes;
Hardware ,components and supplies required by any entity engaged in the provision of essential services for any project related to the provision of water, electricity or other essential services;
Components for vehicles under-going emergency repairs where such vehicle is used by a person engaged in essential services work"
