LIV Cape Town

Category Corporate Social Responsibility

The LIV model is long-term cluster foster care, where children have a sense of belonging in a supportive community.

LIV places orphaned and vulnerable children in a family environment where all their needs are met by taking a holistic approach to physical, emotional and spiritual healing.

HOW THEY WORK

LIV places these children into a family environment with a trained foster mother to love them, a school to educate them, and where all their needs are met.

If these children are equipped with essential moral values and life skills, they will grow up to be a generation that will influence positive change within South Africa, Africa, and the world.

THE LIV VILLAGE STORY

The story of LIV started in 1997 when a vision was birthed in the heart of Tich Smith, to build a village for orphaned and vulnerable children where they will have a home with a mother who loves them, food to eat, a school to educate them and where they will come to know God as their Father in heaven. Tich also dreamed of creating jobs for individuals in surrounding communities so that they can earn an income and look after their families.

Tich, along with his wife Joan, has relentlessly been pursuing this dream and, 20+ years later after much groundwork was done and the building of relationships in local communities, LIV is an established organisation looking after the most vulnerable of our society - orphan children.

ABOUT LIV CAPE TOWN

At LIV Cape Town, the team is passionate about Early Childhood Education.

The Bible says: Dedicate your children to God and point them in the way that they should go, and the values they've learned from you will be with them for life. (Prov22:6 TPT)

Many South African children are born-at-risk because of the country's long history of crime and poverty. Early childhood experiences have lifelong impacts. We want to give children from disadvantaged families a fighting chance to succeed.
